What is Hair Transplantation?
Hair transplantation is a surgical operation that usually involves transplanting the hair follicles taken from the nape of the person to the areas that are completely shed or have decreased hair density. In hair transplantation operations, the FUT technique is not preferred because it causes scarring. FUE, DHI and Percutaneous methods are much more advanced than FUT. The technique to be applied to the patient in the transplantation process is decided by determining the needs of the patient after the hair structure and shedding density are carefully examined.
How is Hair Transplantation Performed?
There are two different methods; Of course, there are sub-branches and different application forms of these methods. Hair transplantation, which can be discussed under two different main headings under the name of FUT (not practiced anymore) and FUE (DHI - Golden tip - Sapphire - Percutaneous) technique, becomes possible with live hair follicles to be taken from the human body.
The process is started with the removal of hair follicles from the nape area and transplanting them into the bald area, but hair transplantation is of course not such a simple process. Each method has its own successful and unsuccessful aspects. We will try to include these details in our sub-headings.
Especially with the increasing number of hair transplantation methods recently, there is hope for the patients. In addition to successful results, if you want to witness a natural and healthy hair formation, you can meet with your doctor in a short time and take steps for examinations.
FUE technique in hair transplantation
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique is the most preferred and known method among hair transplantation procedures in the world and in Turkey. The FUE procedure begins with the cutting of the hair. After applying local anesthesia to the donor area, the hair follicles, which are loosened by a micromotor, are removed with a medical instrument similar to tweezers. If the taken follicles are kept at room temperature, it causes hair follicle deaths within 2 hours and thus the planting fails. For this reason, it is the healthiest method to keep the roots taken in cold isotonic or Hyposol liquids. In this way, hair follicles can continue to live outside for 6 hours.
When the root collection process is finished, the patients area to be transplanted is anesthetized with local anesthesia. With sapphire tips, the channels where the hair follicles will be placed are opened and the roots are transplanted to their new places. After the transplantation process is completed, the donor area is closed by dressing.
DHI Hair Transplant
It is one of the treatment methods that is also referred to as a direct hair implant and that we come across with this name in many sources. If you need a method that is away from non-aesthetic images such as stitches and incisions, we recommend you to meet with DHI.
It is one of the most special methods that makes a tight planting possible. You can get a healthier and more natural look with tight planting details, and this is definitely one of the most important factors for many patients.
It is one of the applications where hair follicle loss is the least and it should be reminded that the waiting time is much shorter.
It is one of the special methods that enables direct sowing.
The recovery process is faster compared to other methods, and the patients adaptation to his daily life becomes easier and faster.
There is no non-aesthetic appearance that you have had a scar or operation, and we can say that this takes the naturalness of the treatment one step further.
To Whom Can Hair Transplantation Be Applied?
There is a 22-year-old criterion for hair transplantation, but although some specialists mention that this limit can be reduced to 18, we recommend it to be done after the age of 22. Anyone who has male pattern hair loss and has strong and lively hair follicles on their body can benefit from hair transplant treatment without any problems.
Percutaneous Technique in Hair Transplantation
Percutaneous hair transplantation is a special hair transplantation technique that can be applied in very few clinics around the world. Percutaneous method is an advanced hair transplantation technique that heals quickly and gives a very natural appearance. Since less solution is used compared to other hair transplantation techniques, edema after the procedure is less. Compared to other techniques, it is more laborious for the practitioner and requires more detail. For this reason, it is usually completed in two sessions applied two days in a row. It is possible to plant 60-70 hair follicles per square centimeter in this special technique, which allows very frequent planting. Due to this feature, it is especially ideal for patients who experience retraction in the front hairline.
